Saints Game!

Last Sunday, Justin made his Saints game debut! Unfortunately, the Saints laid an egg and lost. But, Justin had a lot of fun and spent much of his week at school telling everyone he went. We went with Nanie and Uncle Steve and sat in Nana and Papa Roy's seats as they were out of town in New York.

From the pictures you will see both kids eating breakfast. Kate is dressed in her Saints cheerleader outfit. (See Santa Claus injured post. I am convinced the Saints lost because of Kate. Santa saw Kate in that Saints outfit and knowing she had spiked his animated figure two nights before, he cursed the team she supports.) Oh, there's nothing like the tradition of pregame waffles, either.

The next picture is of Justin outside the Dome before the game with his foam finger.

The final picture is of a nervous Justin. With 50 seconds left in the game we were hoping for lead-changing touchdown. Oh well.

Close to the end of the game, I yelled out "Jesus". It was at that point that Justin informed me that was the fourth bad word I had used that day. Had he gone with Mr. Heath, that might have been the fourth bad word that possession.

Santa Claus injured!

Last Friday night, Jennifer decided she and Justin were going to go to the movies to see Charlotte's Web.

So, as they pack up to leave and walk out of the door, Young Kate was walking behind them...assuming she was invited to come along.

Well, she was not!

So, as they pull out of the driveway and we walk back in the house, Kate is furious. I lock the door and then walk ahead of her to the kitchen.

When I look back at her, she is hitting the animated Santa Claus figure we have had sine '99.

One punch isn't enough, either. She then slams the thing to the ground separating the figure from its base.

In a somewhat related story...Kate is currently on Santa's "naughty" list.

Mommy's new vacum cleaner

There's a bit of a story here.

Jennifer has been "requesting" an Oreck vacum cleaner for close to a year. I kinda blew it off because I felt like their price was high and you only use it some of the time.

Then in September, we met up with Caryn and Ian Fitzgerald for lunch before a football game. When Caryn opened her trunk to get her stroller out, low and behold, she had a new Oreck.

Hence, the conversation about "needing" a new vacum started again.

Fast forward to Saturday when I see and ad in the paper for Oreck vacum cleaners, 0% financing for a year with a free canister vacum and iron. Well, well, well.....this seemed like the avenue to complete the Christmas present purchasing for '06.

So, Justin and I go to the local Oreck dealer, play with the vacum and are impressed with its abilities. When I asked the price and the salesman responded, I chose to leave.

We then met Jennifer and Kate for lunch, Justin told her about the vacum picking up a bowling ball and I told her the college fund would be depleted with the purchase of such an item.

30 minutes later, I was filling out the credit ap.

Thanks, Caryn!

Attached is a picture of Kate trying out the Oreck Orbiter.

Festival of Lights!

Each year, Jennifer's school choir sings on a Friday night during the holiday season at some outside location. This year, it was at one of the Tammany Trace bike trail stops....The Caboose. Even though I don't have any pictures of the lights, they call it the "Festival of Lights".

Interestingly enough, this trail stop has a brand new, state of the art playground filled with some water features. Water is exactly what a dad watching a four and one year old in 25 degree, windy weather needs!

But there was something for everyone. By the end of the evening, Kate was standing on a picnic table dancing to the choir. Kate's new found affinity for dancing requires its own post. The two pictures are of Justin and the Southeastern Louisiana mascot, The Lion, and of Kate swinging in her coat and hat.

Decorating the tree!

We got our tree last weekend. It's the one decorated.

Jennifer was hoping to fill the opening to the piano room. Had she "filled" it any more, it would not have fit!

Justin really wanted a flocked tree. When we saw the prices we told the people to get the flock out of here!

Kate is actually in front of a pink flocked tree. Unique.

Tree's needles started falling on Day Two. That is a good sign.

Yes, the gingerbread cookie in Kate's hand is an ornament. We had some just like that when I was a kid and we decorated Sal & Esther's Christmas Tree. Every year I failed in resisting the temptation to actually bite them. Ridiculous. There were probably some with bites out fo them. Kate, I can proudly admit, did not fall for the same temptation.

Some Disney pics....

Our Disney Trip was fantastic! There are so many stories and a whole memory card filled with other pictures that I can fill this for weeks.

So, for now, these pictures will have to satisfy.

Thanks to Nana, Papa Roy, Nanie & Pal/Uncle Steve for making the trip a lot of fun!

FYI....see the picture of the teacups? Justin was too scared to ride. Kate was all over it. She rode first, then Justin rode the next time. Kate insisted we spin and said "Wheee". Justin insisted we just go with the spin of the ride.

Two kids. Very Different.

ClothesSwap

I am not sure how this happened, but I was there with the camera.

If you look at the picture of Kate, you see that the shirt is a bit big for her and the pants kinda fit like pants.

Then, her brother put them on and they turned into a workout shirt and capris...or as Heath Wahden would say, "Manpris". The flower design may prevent them from being manpris, though.

FYI....Justin will be wearing Kate's winter pants next summer as shorts. Jennifer and I are projecting a savings in the budget category of clothes.

Back....and better than ever

Okay. It's been a while. Justin & Kate's publicist has been very busy and their Associate publicist (Mom) doesn't know how to post to a blog...yet.

The kids have been busy. Justin has been selected to be Santa Claus for his class Christmas production. He is very excited and so were Mommy and Daddy until they found out his online costume was $50. Kate is talking up a storm and is even getting a bit taller!

Both kids are still caught up in their recent visit to DisneyWorld (pictures to follow) and are anxiously awaiting Christmas.

These pictures are from Haloween! Kate is sporting a lovely skirt with her PJs. Then pictures from Justin's school pumpkin patch where the parents and siblings got to visit the class.
