New pet & a quick story. UPDATED

In an interesting twisst, Guila (named after the Guila Monster) was returned to the store after he/she was diagnosed as ill and carrying eggs. We first thought the dragon was having a hrd time adapting. Then, Jennifer took it to PetSmart to see the reptile specialist. The prognosis wasn't so good. So, we took it back to the place of purchase and they are "nursing" it back to health. If all goes well and the animal is cleared, we will repurchase it in the next week or so. In case you were wondering, yes, Justin was VERY upset. After the guinea pig that died in two days, he thinks he is making the animals sick. That's sad.

Justin will be 6 years old at the end of next week. Amazing (Mary Beth...stop crying!!). There really wasn't a toy on his list that he really wanted this year. So, Jennifer started pushing me in the direction of another pet over the weekend. Dog? Nope. Cat? Hell nope. Bird? Maybe. Anyway, the Visa threesome (as I just tagged them because when Jennifer, Justin and Kate are together and have free time, chances are they are going to use their Visa) was out wth "free time" and happened to stumble across an exotic pet store before Justin's violin lesson (which was charged to the Visa). The "consultants" at the store suggested a mouse, a rat, a bird and A BEARDED DRAGON.

Guess what we are the proud owners of? Justin still has not named the fella yet. Stay tuned.

In an unrelated story, Jennifer was reading to Kate before she went to bed last night. Jennifer reminded Kate that tomorrow was her Easter egg hunt at school. It went something like this:

Jen: "You need to go to bed. Tomorrow is the Easter Egg Hunt at school."

Kate: "Yeah. Mom you know Gracie won't be there."

Jen: "Where is Gracie."

Kate: "She went t St. Louis."

Jen: "Oh. Okay. I guess she went for the holiday."

Kate: "Yeah. (after a pause) Do you know where St. Louis is?"

Jen: "Yeah. Where do you think it is?"

Kate: "Um. I think it is a street in Metarie."

You cannot make this stuff up...

For Christmas, Kate "suggested" to her Nanie (Angie) and Uncle Donnie that they buy her a doll out of the Pottery Barn Kids catalog named "Chloe". Of course, Angie and Donnie bought the doll. Good thing, because she told people for weeks that they were giving that to her.

Anyway, this doll often goes with us places. When she does, she MUST be buckled in the center seat belt. Just for reference, Kate and this doll actually have matching dresses. She takes this doll seriously!

Well, last Sunday, we were driving to Slidell with Justin, Kate and Chloe all buckled in the back. On occasion, as you drive by the service road leaving the house, you may encounter a foul odor. We have no idea what it is, but Justin has THE MOST SENSITIVE nose of any human being I have ever been around. So, we pass this area, get a whiff of the bad smell and Justin reports, "Something stinks."

Kate, with Wahden-like speed for a one-line retort, comes back with, "Yeah, it's Chloe's breath."
